mental health: the trevor project

mental health: the trevor project

Each year we identify an organization to donate to—and we are overwhelmed by how many dedicated groups of people are out there doing good work. It’s hard to choose, but we hope that our donation will make a difference at the end of the day. This year, we’re so excited to support The Trevor Project. The mission is clear, and gut-wrenching:

To end LGBTQ youth suicide.

The organization goes on to clarify:

“The Trevor Project is the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning (LGBTQ) young people”. The project backs up their mission, and their approach with lots of data. It’s impressive. They have an entire section of their website dedicated to research. Here’s one: did you know that 42% of LGBTQ respondents to a national survey considered attempting suicide in the past twelve months? Did you also know that one accepting adult decreases the risk of suicide by 40% for LGBTQ young people?

The Trevor Project provides those youth with 24/7 crisis counseling via phone, text, and chat.

We are donating 5% of our net sales this year to The Trevor Project.

You can get involved too!

Want to know more? You can read a guide on how to be an ally to LGBTQ youth. You can volunteer, partner with the project, or work full time! You can donate, fundraise, or partner as a business.

Most of all, you can remember the Trevor Project, and send any struggling LGBTQ young person to their website where counselors are ready to support them.

Love wins,
