We are hardcore Galentines day celebrators. The value of lady friendship is immeasurable. You don’t have to be single to celebrate Galentines, and the holiday isn’t meant to bash people in relationships, or Valentine’s Day. The day, and however you celebrate is meant to highlight female friendship, or the friendships you value that aren’t the center of your romantic life.
My girl friends are an important part of my life. We are all busy, and don’t see each other as often as we’d like, but we make a dedicated effort to get together. Galentines is a time when we make that effort. We gather, usually in a kitchen, and cook, talk, eat and catch up.
My ladies are my role models, and my teachers. I have learned so much about resilience, recovery, strength, self care and self worth from the women in my life.
When I announced that I was hiking the entire Appalachian Trail, it was a group of women who surrounded me, supported me and threw me a going away party.
